Esquimalt

Esquimalt is located on the Esquimalt Peninsula, immediately west of Victoria, across the Johnson Street Bridge. It is bordered to the south by the Strait of Juan de Fuca (now known as the Salish Sea), to the west by Esquimalt Harbour and to the north by the Gorge Inlet.

Esquimalt offers some of the best real estate values in Greater Victoria. Considering its close proximity to Downtown and the ocean, its affordability is surprising. The Esquimalt Peninsula is bordered by water on three sides, making for numerous waterfront or water view properties. Esquimalt has a mix of high quality residential properties, heritage homes as well as more modest post-war houses and numerous condo/apartment buildings and townhomes, primarily along its major arteries. Esquimalt is also home to the Department of National Defence and headquarters of Canada's Pacific Naval Fleet. Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, employing roughly 4,000 military and 3,000 civilian personnel, is a major economic contributor to Greater Victoria.

Saxe Point Park is a local gem that is littered with locals on sunny days for its sprawling green lawn and captivating vistas. It is also a special place for wedding photos. Macaulay Point Park is also popular, with walking trails, coastline views, a small beach and boat dock.
