Esquimalt

Esquimalt is located on the Esquimalt Peninsula, immediately west of Victoria, across the Johnson Street Bridge. It is bordered to the south by the Strait of Juan de Fuca (now known as the Salish Sea), to the west by Esquimalt Harbour and to the north by the Gorge Inlet.

Esquimalt offers some of the best real estate values in Greater Victoria. Considering its close proximity to Downtown and the ocean, its affordability is surprising. The Esquimalt Peninsula is bordered by water on three sides, making for numerous waterfront or water view properties. Esquimalt is also home to the Department of National Defence and headquarters of Canada's Pacific Naval Fleet. Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt, employing roughly 4,000 military and 3,000 civilian personnel, is a major economic contributor to Greater Victoria.

Macaulay Point Park is also popular, with walking trails, coastline views, a small beach and boat dock.
